ABOUT NSS
The National Service Scheme (NSS) was started on 24th September, 1969 with a view promoting social consciousness and sense of responsibility as well as a sense of discipline and dignity of labor among college students. The ultimate aim has been to develop the personality of students through community service.
OBJECTIVES:
Understand the community in which they work.
Understand themselves in relation to their community.
Identify the needs and problems in the community in the solution of which they can be involved.
Develop among themselves a sense of social and civic responsibility.
Apply their education in kindly apply practical solutions of individual and community problems.
Develop group living and sharing responsibilities.
Develop cap city to meet emergencies and natural disease.
Practice national integration.
Acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitude.
Acquire leadership gain skills in mobilizing community participation.

NSS Symbols: Rath Wheel of the Konark Sun Temple of Orissa.
The Wheel signifies the progressive cycle of life.
NSS Badge: The NSS symbol is embossed on the NSS badge. Konark Wheel in the symbol has eight bars = 24 hrs. It reminds to be in readiness for service of the nation. The Red colour indicates the active energy and high spirit. The navy blue colour indicates the contribution shared for the welfare of the mankind.
